Following its September filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in New York, AirBaltic has announced plans to cut about 500 to 700 jobs as part of a restructuring aimed at reducing debt through capacity and fleet reduction. Trade unions have already expressed criticism of an earlier proposal for staff to take 85% ​part-time work.
